press interviews

By , March 27, 2009 10:27 pm

End of a stressful week – preparing for my first ever press interviews yesterday (which went fine, shouldn’t have let myself get so wound up about them) whilst mixing with a bunch of executives at a seminar in the Forest of Arden and trying to keep various other balls in the air.

Jazz cello

By , March 27, 2009 10:14 pm

Doing a gig with Pete Churchill and some mates from my band in the Royal Albert Hall on Monday – haven’t played jazz cello in a while so really looking forward to it. No improvisation but I’ve heard Pete’s writing is really great so should be fun.

Also following hot on the heels of a mad mid-carnival gig, the next monthly installment of Guanabara goodness from my band is on April 4th – come check it out!

Starting is half the battle

“I bought a book about how to overcome procrastination but I haven’t got round to reading it yet” – that’s an old joke, but in my case it’s almost true. I’ve been kind of stuck at chapter 3 of “The NOW Habit” for a couple of years or so (it’s a good book by the way, go buy it and then leave it on your bookshelf unopened).

I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for years, but more recently I keep thinking of things I want to share, so here it is finally – better late than never?

The title is copied straight from this inspirational website which I really identify with – most of my best work is done when I should be doing something else.

Anyway I promised myself I wouldn’t let my perfectionist streak get in the way of hitting “Publish Post” for the first time, so that’s it for now…
